World Sevens Live Stream and Rugby Free Air TV Replay Guide

The Rugby Sevens format is fast becoming one of the most popular sporting codes in the world, and is now ready to host the twenty-first edition of their World Series.
The 2020 Rugby 7’s continue with a visit to Sydney, Australia, from 1-2 February. This weekend will see both the Men’s and Women’s sides compete, and you won’t miss the available action when watching at home or streaming matches live to a mobile device using the options listed in this guide.
This will be the twenty-first edition of the HSBC Rugby World Sevens, and Fiji will enter as the reigning champions after besting the United States for total points on the season by the slimmest of margins, 186-177, thanks largely to their victory in the finale at Paris and the USA side finishing fourth on that same weekend. It was Fiji’s fourth Rugby Sevens championship, and their third title in the past five years, with their run including taking the Gold in five of the ten stops. As for team USA, this was their best-ever showing in the tournament’s history, and included a hot start to the series when they finished second in each of the first four events. New Zealand and South Africa, who entered as favourites, took the third and fourth positions on the final Rugby 7’s ladder.
When: December 5, 2019 – May 31, 2020
Where: Asia, Africa, Australasia, N. America, Europe

For the men, the number one seed in 2020 is New Zealand, who started strong last season by winning two of the first four events, only to see their form slip dramatically as the season progressed. Fiji will also head in as one of the favourites having won Gold at half of the stops last time around on their way to the championship. They will look to get off to a faster start this year after failing to finish higher than fourth in three of the first five stops last year – Dubai, Sydney and Las Vegas. As for the Australian men, they finished seventh last time out, with their best efforts being a fourth in Dubai and a second place finish in London. This year’s season will follow largely the same format as the last, with the only change to the Rugby Seven’s fixtures being a change in the USA venue from Las Vegas, Nevada, to Los Angeles, California.
In the Women’s Rugby 7’s, Australia will look to return to the form that saw them take the Gold in 2018, with reigning champs New Zealand currently the biggest obstacle in their path. New Zealand won four of the six events last season, besting the United States who took the Silver. The 2019/20 Women’s Sevens will see two additional stops on the schedule, for a total of eight legs in all. Hong Kong has been added to replace Japan – which will be hosting the 2020 Olympic Sevens – along with stops in New Zealand and South Africa. The women will play on the same weekends as the men’s teams in Dubai (Dec 5-7), South Africa (Dec 13-15), New Zealand (Jan 25-26), Australia (Feb 1-2), Hong Kong (April 3-5) and the Finale in France (May 30-31), which will make for several exciting weekends, but don‘t look for the Rugby Sevens on Free to air in Australia.
